What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

  • Exceptional location — Close to the Acropolis and the old district, with the metro less than a five-minute walk and several restaurants nearby.
  • Acropolis views — Several rooms and the rooftop bar and restaurant offer views of the Acropolis, which guests often call spectacular.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Business facilities are limited — The business centre is small and crowded, printing costs extra, and wifi may require purchasing an international card.
  • Breakfast can disappoint — For a 5-star property, the breakfast is described as poor or overpriced; some guests found better value at local cafes.
  • Rooftop dining is pricey — The rooftop restaurant and bar charge more than nearby rooftop tavernas, though the view is memorable.
  • Not all expectations met — One guest felt the experience did not match a 5-star standard, so manage expectations on luxury details.

“The included breakfast was savoury and generous.”

“Everything lived up to expectations and I had a pleasant vacation. The hotel is exceptionally clean and feels new. Rooms were attractive and neat with a Parthenon view and a balcony, and nothing was too much trouble. The pool was lovely, and I enjoyed soft drinks at the poolside bar.”

8.4Verified guest

“The staff support was excellent, and the service was just as good.”

“The rooms with balconies facing the Acropolis are fantastic. Our family will always remember our stay in rooms 507 and 508. The rooftop restaurant has an amazing, romantic view of the Acropolis, but it is pricey compared to nearby rooftop tavernas. I was on business, and for me the hotel was not business friendly: the wifi did not work, they wanted me to buy an international card for 10 euro, the little business centre was too small and too crowded, and printing documents cost a lot. I ended up at a nearby wifi coffee shop where everything was free and the owner let me use his printer for free. Likewise, the 20 euro breakfasts each were extortionate, so my family and I went out to a number of local places that were charming – the four of us had breakfast and endless coffee for 20 euro total. The staff was very friendly and helpful regarding touring the city.”

“It was not really what I expected from a 5-star hotel.”

8.4Verified guest

“Perfect location close to the subway and lots of restaurants and other amenities in the neighbourhood. Really service-minded staff – not something to take for granted in Greece. For being a 5-star hotel, the breakfast was on the poor side. One expects fresh juices at this standard.”
